With the help of his friend Dallas, Calvin hosted the most adorable refreshment stand—an absolute highlight of the tour. Through their efforts, they raised an impressive $258, which Calvin generously chose to donate in full to the Sanford Cultural Guild.

What started as a humble idea is quickly blossoming into one of Sanford’s most beloved community events, and we couldn’t do it without the incredible support of our homeowners, volunteers, sponsors, artists, musicians, vendors, and everyone who attended.

Yesterday, the Sanford Cultural Guild hosted a garden party to unveil our conceptual design for the Sanford Botanical Garden: where nature, history, and the arts come together to tell the story of Sanford. We knew the best way to showcase the scope of this project was to bring local officials, nonprofit leaders, and community champions together to experience the possibilities firsthand. Thank you to all who attended and offered your support. We are thrilled to announce the development of the Sanford Botanical Garden, a 1.5 acre project in partnership with the City of Sanford. This beautiful garden will border the Sanford Museum and Lake Carola, creating a serene and educational space for the community to enjoy.

The conceptual design for the garden has been officially approved by the City of Sanford, and we are now in the process of finalizing the plant list and budget. Our fundraising efforts will begin in 2026, and we invite you to be a part of this exciting initiative that will enrich the cultural and environmental landscape of our city.

The Sanford Botanical Garden will feature a diverse collection of plants, sustainable landscaping practices, and educational opportunities for visitors of all ages. This project is a key part of our commitment to telling the story of Sanford through nature, history, and the arts.

Georgetown Community Garden

We've partnered with the Historic Hopper Academy to bring a community garden to the neighborhood of Georgetown. The design and budget has been set. A committee of passionate gardeners has been formed to maintain the garden. The Sanford Cultural Guild is facilitating the installation of the garden. The site currently functions as a community center, and the garden will be an important addition to this historic location. Slated for installation Fall 2025!
