BOTANICAL
GARDEN
We are thrilled to announce the development of the Sanford Botanical Garden, a 1.5 acre project in partnership with the City of Sanford. This beautiful garden will border the Sanford Museum and Lake Carola, creating a serene and educational space for the community to enjoy.
The conceptual design for the garden has been officially approved by the City of Sanford, and we are now in the process of finalizing the plant list and budget. Our fundraising efforts will begin in 2026, and we invite you to be a part of this exciting initiative that will enrich the cultural and environmental landscape of our city.
The Sanford Botanical Garden will feature a diverse collection of plants, sustainable landscaping practices, and educational opportunities for visitors of all ages. This project is a key part of our commitment to telling the story of Sanford through nature, history, and the arts.

Georgetown Community Garden

In partnership with the Historic Hopper Academy, the Sanford Cultural Guild proudly helped bring a thriving community garden to the historic Georgetown neighborhood. What began as a shared vision has now blossomed into a vibrant gathering space dedicated to education, wellness, and community connection.
Now fully installed and flourishing, the garden is operated and maintained by a dedicated committee of local Georgetown women under the umbrella of the Historic Hopper Academy. Their leadership and passion continue to shape the garden into a meaningful neighborhood resource for residents of all ages.
This project was made possible through a partnership supported by the Sanford Community Development Block Grant program, generous local donors, and community collaboration. Located at the community center site, the garden stands as a beautiful addition to this historic neighborhood and a lasting investment in Georgetown’s future.
